UPDATED July 2018: For kids who were born to be on stage, Brooklyn is home to numerous music camps, dance camps, theater camps, and performing arts camps. Your children can spend the summer learning a new dance style or honing their skills in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, ballroom, tap, or pointe at summer dance programs in Downtown Brooklyn, Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Canarsie, Flatlands, and Park Slope. Your musical child can take singing lessons or learn a new instrument, such as flute, violin, cello, piano, guitar, and drums, at summer music programs in Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Park Slope, Dyker Heights, and Bay Ridge. If your child is more of a triple threat, can grow their theater and musical theater skills at a summer performing arts program in Dyker Heights, Bay Ridge, Gowanus, Park Slope, Boerum Hill, Downtown Brooklyn, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, and Brooklyn Heights.

Our classes are for ages 2 through adult. We teach ballet, tap, hip-hop, jazz, pointe, gymnastics, majorette, Caribbean, African, boys' classes, adult classes, lyrical, praise dance, karate, private lessons, and competition classes. Call or stop into one of our three convenient Brooklyn locations for more information. We offer six-week Saturday summer classes held at our Avenue L location.

For 40 years, The Preparatory Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College has offered private and group classes in music (piano, winds, percussion, brass, traditional and Suzuki strings), theater (audition prep, acting, and musical theater), and dance (from ballet to hip-hop and beyond), for children and teens of all levels. Prep Center’s Teen Division also includes Live-action Filmmaking and Beat-Making classes, focusing on the newest technologies in film and composition! Our professional teachers, well-known experts in their fields, encourage students’ growth at all levels. Registration is underway for summer.

Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts, the nation's preeminent arts day camp offers more than 70 programs of study in the arts; visual art, dance, music, theater, writing, and arts-related fields: nature, chess, and recreational arts. Each summer, more than 1,500 students ages 4-18 are immersed in art and nature and surrounded by friends who share their interests and enthusiasm. Transportation is provided in air-conditioned buses departing from throughout the New York Metro and Long Island areas. Two-, Three- four-, and seven-week sessions are offered from June 25-Aug. 10.

The Brooklyn Music School (BMS) offers a diverse selection of summer programming for children ages 5 and older. Whether your child is new to music and dance or has been studying a particular instrument for some time, the Brooklyn Music School has summer programming options fit for all skill levels. From individualized instruction in private lessons to fun and engaging full-day music and dance programming to afternoon Musical Theater workshops, BMS has just the right summer activities where all participants are sure to experience the joy of music and dance.

Leif Ericson Day School's Summer Creative Arts and Music Program begins its 21st year of fun this June through early August. Children in pre-K to seventh grade enjoy computers, art, music, movement, and drama. Professional, caring staff and junior counselors are enthusiastic and attentive. Limited group size allows for a more fulfilling experience. All activities are on-site. Two snacks provided daily. SCAMP hours are 9am-3pm with "Early Bird" care (8am) and "Late Bird" care (5pm) for additional fees.

Join us for another exciting summer together at Camp Ume Ume; a music + art enrichment Summer Camp for children ages 3–8! Ume Ume campers will be moving, creating, and learning in a fun, safe, collaborative, and inspiring artistic and academic environment. Campers will explore the works of famous composers, musicians, artists, and dancers while implementing and developing their own creative skills through the arts.
