Sarah Lawrence College Campus Hosts New Summer Camp

Rush Day Camp, a summer camp for children in Westchester, will be offered in week-long sessions on the Sarah Lawrence College campus from June 24-Aug. 16. With flexible scheduling for parents and two program lengths to choose from, Rush Day Camp makes fitting camp into a busy summer schedule easy.

Rush Day Camp will be offered exclusively at Sarah Lawrence College this summer for children ages 4-13. Campers will receive a well-balanced curriculum, a 5-to-1 camper-to-counselor ratio, and a variety of fun activities. With enrollment offered on a week-to-week basis, and two camp options to choose from—three-day and five-day—Rush Day Camp makes it as simple as possible for parents to schedule summer camp for their kids: “The flexibility given because of the week-to-week enrollment option allows working parents to plan their schedules and vacations without difficulty,” says owner Michael Rush.

“The curriculum is a typical, traditional one,” says Rush, “but it was designed to develop a group dynamic among the campers,” Rush says. “It’s important for kids today to develop relationship skills, as well as social experiences. We stress working together, group dynamics, and having fun.”

In addition to art, music, computer, and sports activities, the camp will offer pool time and swimming lessons. Traveling exhibitions and experiences will also visit the camp. This year’s lineup includes music and art presentations, science shows, a zoo, and a world-famous balloonist.

Rush Day Camp at Sarah Lawrence College is an extension of a Pennsylvania-based summer camp. This year’s camp sessions will run June 24-Aug. 16.
