Dinosaurs Are Coming to Six Flags Great Adventure This Summer

Calling all dino-lovers! Six Flags Great Adventure, the theme park located in Jackson, NJ, will be home to a Jurassic Park-style adventure (just without the danger of actual dinosaurs!). Dino enthusiasts of all ages will be able to see their favorite dinos as life-size animatronic replicas this summer when Xpedition Dino comes to the theme park May 28. Among the 30 featured dinosaurs, you’ll be able to see T. rex, triceratops, brachiosaurus, megalosaurus, apatosaurus, citipati, dilophosaurus, and iguanodon.

During the day, Xpedition Dino is available as an add-on (for an additional fee) to the park’s Wild Safari Drive-Thru Adventure, which came back last year in response to the pandemic. From the safety of your car, you’ll drive past life-size, roaring and moving dinos while enjoying a custom soundtrack that can be streamed to any mobile device.

Then, after the safari closes each day, Xpedition Dino will turn into an educational, walk-through add-on (for an additional fee) to any theme park visit. You will enjoy a guided walk through the wooded adventure, learning info about each dinosaur. Plus, you’ll be able to take unique photos—perfect for that Insta post!—of your dino lover with their favorite prehistoric creature.

Xpedition Dino will be available daily through Sept. 7, when these dinos will once again become extinct.

Six Flags Great Adventure is located at 1 Six Flags Blvd., Jackson, NJ. All visitors, including members, need to make reservations in advance online. COVID-19 safety guidelines are still in place at the theme park.
