Already a success on Staten Island, Splats & Squiggles owner Nicole Fioretto opened a second location in Park Slope on April 22 with business partner and friend Dalia Moss. The studio offers various mommy-and-me workshops and activities meant to stimulate a child’s learning, as well as strengthen the bond between parent and child. Workshops include Early Artist Intro Into Art, Building Buddies, Creative Crafters, and Little Explorers Science Class. Fioretto and Moss teach workshops in addition to instructors from programs such as Kinderdance and Snap to Grow.

Catering to children ages 10 and younger, Splats & Squiggles tries to maintain an easy-going atmosphere focused on the needs of the children and the parents. “[We’re] still close to home and very neighborhood, and we keep it that way,” Fioretto says.

Splats & Squiggles also likes to keep things affordable by not requiring registration fees for their workshops, which range in price from $180 to $240. Workshops run for seven weeks with an eighth week “make-up class” open to all students. Throughout the year, the studio offers seasonal events for $35 dollars that include three arts and crafts projects, music, and snacks. The studio also hosts birthday parties for children. All packages include a craft, music, tablecloths, and handmade invites. Food, decorations and other options are also available in certain packages.

The Brooklyn location is larger than the Staten Island building, comprising of a science lab, a backyard area, and multiple rooms for workshops.
