After closing in the late 80s, The Suffolk Theater has been renovated and held its grand opening March 2. The theater can hold 350-800 guests due to the flex space cabaret seating and presents a variety of shows and events, including Broadway shows, operas, concerts, wedding receptions, and company presentations.

The classic features from when the theater first opened in 1933 have been preserved and rebuilt, such as the lighting and wall details. Theatergoers enjoy the atmosphere as well as the addition of dining services. The theater contains a full-service restaurant and two bars, which allow guests to witness the whole experience of a great meal and show.

“The Suffolk Theater is the most beautiful theater on Long Island, which is also a national landmark,” says Susan Gentile Hackett, director of marketing and public relations. “The flexible space seating as well as the dining options are what make the theater unique.”

The theater has three upcoming children’s shows to experience during the summer: Family Fun with Magic Al on July 13, Family Fun with Marionettes, Puppet Show & Workshop on July 27, and a youth theater production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on Aug. 12.
