Finding the right programs for children with special needs to have fun can be a challenge—especially if the camp your kid wants to attend doesn’t have the proper support for children with special needs. We took the guesswork out of your summer camp shopping and compiled a list of summer camps in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan that are either only for children with special needs or offer services and programs for children with special needs in a mainstream setting. We have three programs: Tova and Bari Tov respectively have 4-to-1 and one-to-one camper-to-counselor ratios; Yomi Inclusion embeds a child within the larger population, and with the support of a shadow counselor.
