The Art Studio NY, a studio on the Upper West Side that offers art classes, art birthday parties, after-school art classes, and private art lessons, is expanding its offerings in the New Year. The Art Studio NY also offers in-home art lessons.
At The Art Studio NY, children learn about and practice various art mediums, including painting and drawing.
The Art Studio NY, which has been rated a top art class provider by Living Social and About.com, is expanding all of its art class offerings for ages 2-102.
The studio offers “nurturing and inspiring art classes,” says Rebecca Schweiger, founder of The Art Studio NY. “We have a unique approach to art that’s very engaging, combining self-expression with artistic technique. Children’s creativity is our main focus.” These art classes are beneficial for children because they “increase social skills, increase their ability to focus, and encourage a higher level of creative problem solving,” Schweiger adds.
Schweiger says the studio will double the number of its after-school art classes to offer approximately 24 per week, including drawing, painting, and a comics and cartoons class. “We’re going to be adding a lot more of what we do so well. Parents tell us that our classes tend to be the highlights of their children’s weeks,” Schweiger adds.
The Art Studio NY will also add more opportunities for birthday parties and double the number of private lessons and summer camp sessions. The birthday parties are 2 hours, during which children will create and take home their own piece of art. The summer camps are half-day programs in which children explore a variety of artistic mediums and artists.
Another aspect that will expand is the in-school programs and private in-home sessions. Schweiger says The Art Studio NY has been invited into many schools in the area to bring programs as a part of an established art curriculum or as an after-school program. The studio’s in-home art lessons are expanding to meet the growing demand.
