The Green Vale School to Add Summer Camp Programs for 2-Year-Olds

The Green Vale School to Add Summer Camp Programs for 2-Year-Olds

New Green Vale summer camp programs for 2-year-olds include Mommy & Me, Little Naturalists, and Splash & Laugh.

The Green Vale School, a pre-Nursery through eighth-grade independent school in Old Brookville, welcomed Kelly Flink as school’s director of early childhood at the beginning of the school year. This summer, Flink will partner with Cami Gallagher, the school’s summer camp director, to bring programming for 2-year-olds to the school’s summer camp.

The summer camp programs for 2-year-olds include Mommy & Me, Little Naturalists, and Splash & Laugh. “This is a great opportunity for families from Long Island who are looking for a day camp experience for their two-year-old,” says Alexis Morledge, director of admissions.

The Green Vale School hosts two weeklong sessions of summer camp in late June. The half-day format allows families, especially of younger children, to sample a variety of themed programs and activities for just one week.

“We are so pleased that our educational programming and summer programming are dovetailing so nicely together,” Morledge says.

All camps are held on The Green Vale School's 40-acre campus and feature members of school’s faculty as counselors. “Families can put a toe in, attending a camp with a counselor who could potentially be their child’s teacher,” Morledge says. “We are an independent school that offers a little camp flavor in June so people can lean about Green Vale School through our camp programs.”

Many of the early childhood offerings will be held in the state-of-the-art Schwerin Early Childhood Center, with opportunities for outdoor play in the recently renovated Susan Jones play space. This dedicated play space includes two different, age-appropriate recreational areas as well as a newly created Sandbox Zone and Tricycle Track.

The Green Vale School’s summer camp also offers programming for children in pre-Nursery through eighth grades, including Summer STEAM, Robotics, Intro to Coding, Baseball, Sewing 101, Rocketry, International Culinary Experience, Student Leadership, and GVS Marketing & Communications Interns.

The Green Vale School summer camps will run June 18-22 and June 25-29, from 9am-12pm. Registration is currently open.
