Tree Lightings in Manhattan

FREE Winter's Eve
WHEN: Monday, Dec. 2, 5:30-9pm
WHERE: Lincoln Center BID: Dante Park, Broadway and 63rd St., Upper West Side
WHAT: The iconic Ronnie Spector and The Ronettes will headline the main stage at Dante Park (Broadway and 63rd Street) and help light up the Upper West Side at the 20th Annual Winter's Eve at Lincoln Square. New York's largest holiday festival kicks off with the Upper West Side's only tree lighting ceremony on Monday, Dec. 2, 2019 at 5:30pm The celebration continues until 9pm and features music, dancing, food, culture and holiday fun for all ages.

WHEN: Wednesday, Dec. 4, 8pm
WHERE: Rockefeller Center Plaza, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, Midtown
WHAT: Don't miss this iconic tree lighting!

FREE Tree Lighting and Sing-Along
WHEN: Thursday, Dec. 5, 6pm
WHERE: Bryant Park, Between W. 40th and 42nd Streets, Fifth and Sixth Avenues, Midtown
WHAT: Bryant Park’s annual Tree Lighting returns Thursday, December 5 at 6pm.

  • Host Alyse Zwick
  • Christmas sing-alongs led by Harlem youth chorus DREAM Choir
  • Performances by world-class skaters Ryan Bradley, Evelyn Walsh and Trennt Michaud, and The Haydenettes
  • Plus, fireworks, Santa, and more!

Following the ceremony, all visitors are welcome to skate to live music on the city’s only free admission ice skating rink.

FREE 23rd Annual Central Park Tree Lighting
WHEN: Thursday, Dec. 5, 5:30-6:30pm
WHERE: Charles A. Discovery Center, Central Park North
WHAT: Celebrate the season at the 23rd Annual Holiday Lighting in Central Park. Meet Santa and friends, sing carols on the Plaza, and warm up with hot cocoa and cookies. The evening concludes with lighting a flotilla of trees on the Harlem Meer. Event is rain, snow, or shine.

Morningside Park Tree Lighting
WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 21, 5-6pm
WHERE: Morningside Park, 121st St. and Morningside Ave., Morningside Heights
WHAT: Join the Friends of Morningside for the tradition of celebrating the holidays in the park! On the winter solstice, they will light a tree, tell the stories of the holidays, and have a sing-along. Refreshments will be provided.

Tree Lightings in Brooklyn

FREE Empire Outlets First Annual Tree Lighting
WHEN: Tuesday, Dec. 3, 6pm
WHERE: Empire Outlets, 55 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island
WHAT: Empire Outlets will host its first tree lighting ceremony with a 40-foot crystal tree and an evening of live music and caroling, hot chocolate, seasonal bites, in-store shopping deals and holiday revelry for the whole family.

FREE Atlantic Avenue Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony and Party
WHEN: Thursday, Dec. 5, 6-8pm
WHERE: St. Cyril of Turov Belarusian Church, 401 Atlantic Ave., Boerum Hill
WHAT: The community gathers at the church to enjoy performances from local schools and donated treats from Atlantic Avenue merchants.

Sinterklass – Saint Nicholas Day
WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 7, 1-4pm
WHERE: Wyckoff House Museum, 5816 Clarendon Road, East Flatbush
WHAT: Families can enjoy an afternoon of events including a traditional concert by colonial balladeer Linda Russell and a visit from St. Nicholas as he arrives on horseback, plus the chance to feed his horse carrots and hay. Tree lighting and decorating will begin at 4pm.
