West Rock Indoor Re-Opens Turf Area of Facility

West Rock Indoor Sports and Entertainment Complex, which offers basketball and baseball classes in the winter for kids, recently re-opened its turf and basketball area after fixing the roof, which collapsed last winter due to snow. West Rock is now offering a variety of sports clinics and leagues, and hosts parties.

On Dec. 1, West Rock Indoor Sports and Entertainment Complex resumed its winter programs after re-opening the turf and basketball areas of the facility. The complex was closed due to the roof collapsing in February from snow. West Rock Indoor offers sports clinics, leagues, tennis, and school-break camp, and can host birthday parties, bar and bat mitzvahs, and more. The facility also began its new Junior Golf Clinic program.

The Junior Golf Clinic runs Dec. 1-Jan. 31, 2015. The clinic focuses on basic golf fundamentals, including full swing, clipping, and putting. For children ages 7-10, sessions are held Tuesdays from 4-5pm or Saturdays from 10-11am. For children ages 11-14, sessions are held Tuesdays from 5-6pm and Saturdays from 11am-12pm.

West Rock Indoor Baseball Academy will offer its Pitch by Pitch program from Dec. 1-April 24, 2015. Pitch by Pitch hones kids’ hitting, mechanical, throwing, fielding, pitching, and base running skills. It is available in one- or two-day sessions. The program is held Mondays and Fridays from 4-5:30pm for children ages 7-9 and from 5-6:30pm for ages 10-12.

West Rock’s Basketball Academy runs Dec. 2-March 12, 2015. Athletes will learn the fundamentals of basketball, play scrimmage games, and work on conditioning. Sessions are available in one- or two-day lessons on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-5:30pm for children ages 5-7 and 5:30-7pm for children ages 9-10. An additional session for children ages 11-13 is available on Wednesdays from 5:30-7pm.

West Rock also offers high school girl's lacrosse, high school soccer, and men's basketball and soccer leagues. Registration for the winter sessions is still open.
