55th Annual White Plains Outdoor Arts Festival to Take Place in June

The White Plains Outdoor Arts Festival will be happening from June 3-4 in Tibbits Park. This will be the 55th anniversary of the festival.

The art festival not only aims to bring high quality arts and crafts to the White Plains community, but it also puts profits toward college scholarships for high school seniors who will go on to pursue an education in fine arts.

The festival is a long-standing tradition and is organized by volunteers and the City of White Plains. It showcases paintings, photography, ceramics, glasswork, jewelry, and textiles. The event also features emerging artists, the artwork of past scholarship winners, a children’s arts and crafts table, and food vendors. In addition, visitors will be able to shop for one-of-a-kind gifts and home décor.

Each year the festival features two local artists. This year the artists will be Libby Denenberg, who creates mosaic mixed media; and Lina Hamadeh, who creates jewelry.

There will be a raffle in which a visitor can win a piece of art, with all proceeds going toward the scholarship fund. White Plains high school seniors who demonstrate an exceptional aptitude for fine arts and who plan to pursue arts studies in college may apply for a scholarship. The Scholarship Committee will meet with applicants and review their work. Winners will be announced about a week before the festival.

The White Plains Outdoor Arts Festival will take place June 3-4 from 10am-5pm. Admission is free. Tibbits Park is located at 1 North Broadway in White Plains. For more information about the White Plains Outdoor Arts Festival visit whiteplainsoutdoorartsfestival.com
