Culinary Therapy, which recently moved from its Connecticut location to Massapequa, celebrated its grand opening on Jan. 9. Founder Lisa Gatti says she is offering families two new programs that apply spring cleaning to eating habits.
The first program, “Spring into Action,” is designed to help families reclaim their health goals for the year. Families can schedule 10 weekly 30-minute phone sessions for $600. Gatti is also offering Nassau Parent readers a 10-percent discount; book before April 30 to receive this special reduced price.
The second program, “Kids in the Kitchen,” encourages healthy eating by including kids in the cooking process. Children learn both kitchen basics and nutrition 101 while learning to prepare simple, whole foods.
Other programs offered by Culinary Therapy are: Nutrition Breakthrough, Kitchen Pantry Makeover, Nutrition Counseling, and a health food tour.
Gatti encourages families to express excitement as they switch to healthy foods: Make them feel as if they are a part of the change, rather than just impacted by it. “If you get excited, your kids will too,” Gatti says.
