Event description: Calling all scientists! Kids ages 8-12 can be a part of the Young Discovers Club. Birds come in many different shapes, sizes and colors. These variations are adaptations to their environment. Come learn why adaptations are important for birds. See how wonderfully birds are designed to live and feed where they do, realize that being called a bird brain is a compliment after this class is through!

Kids can put on their thinking caps and answer important environmental questions with fun and easy experiments. Learn about the environment through studies and tests, some can be done with simple household supplies. Snack included.

Alley Pond Park is the home of the Douglaston Estate Windmill, a reminder of their agricultural past.
