Would you like to help take care for APEC’s animals? This program introduces children to the unique responsibility of being an animal caretaker. Participants will learn about the needs of the animal ambassadors, and gain hands-on experience in feeding, brushing, and cleaning them. This program will be held indoors. Students are required to wear masks for the entire program. Ages: 8-10 (drop-off) Advanced registration required.

The Alley Pond Environmental Center (APEC), a nonprofit environmental education organization, is dedicated to educating children and adults in the New York metropolitan area, protecting and preserving Alley Pond Park, open spaces and waterbodies, and advocating for sustainable environmental policies and practices.
Alley Pond Park is the home of the Douglaston Estate Windmill, a reminder of their agricultural past.
