The Importance of Bees and Butterflies

This event has already taken place. Click here for the latest events.

Bees and butterflies are important pollinators, responsible for a huge amount of the world’s food supply!  Explore bee and butterfly anatomy to learn how their bodies are uniquely adapted for pollination.  Students will enjoy a flower dissection activity to better understand how the parts of a flower are a perfectly designed structure for pollination to take place. The class will also include an outdoor nature walk to look for local pollinators. Each student will receive a book about bees to take home.  Masks must be worn by all adults and children for the entire program. Limited to 7 children. Ages 6-8 (drop-off)
