Description: The A.J. Meerwald, New Jersey?s official Tall Ship, is a magnificently restored, two-masted, 115-foot oyster schooner, built in 1928, and driven by over 3,500 square feet of sail. The Meerwald visits Alpine just once a year for a series of themed sailings focusing on New Jersey's history, art, music, and of course, nature. Today's trip sails between the Alpine Boat Basin and Liberty State Park. Featured speakers will include Dr. Angela Cristini, PhD, Ramapo College & Director of Environmental Education NJ Meadowlands and Kevin Tremble, President of Crossroads of American Revolution Association. Reservations are required. Presented by the Tenafly Nature Center.
