Back by popular demand, Asbury-Crestwood United Methodist Church is honored to present singer / actress Julia Breanetta Simpson in the one woman show, “Harlem on My Mind,” a dynamic musical journey through the “Harlem Renaissance” featuring the poetry of Langston Hughes, the personalities of Bessie Smith, Ethel Waters, and Josephine Baker, and the music of Duke Ellington, Fats Waller, Harold Arlen, and Irving Berlin. As a program of Asbury-Crestwood United Methodist Church, Music at Asbury is designed to serve as a social service to the community, offering free performances by some of New York City and the Hudson Valley’s finest musical artists. Admission is free of charge but reservations are strongly recommended. Music at Asbury is the recipient of a 2020 Arts Alive Grant from ArtsWestchester.
