A behind-the-scenes look at the struggles and triumphs in the career of Misty Copeland, who made history when she became the first African-American woman to be named principal dancer of the prestigious American Ballet Theatre. Nelson George’s uplifting documentary follows the groundbreaking dancer through the major turning points of her career, from the performances that brought her international acclaim to her fortitude in the face of near-career ending injuries. Drawing insight and support from other Black ballerinas who came before her, Copeland's journey is an inspiring tale of perseverance and artistry.
