Black bears are a growing concern in Bergen County. The zoo hosts this special day to teach visitors how to co-exist with these beautiful creatures. Information and craft tables will be set up around the zoo all day and Smokey the Bear will be on hand to teach young zoo-goers how to prevent forest fires. At 11am and 1pm, guests can "learn the bear facts" and at 2:30 guests can learn "the true nature of black bears." At 3pm, children can bring their own Teddy bears to hear Teddy bear stories. And at 3:30pm they can move and groove to a Teddy Bear Dance Party.
