In this kid-friendly evening program, meet some creepy, crawly animal visitors, listen to a spooky zoo tale, and take a walk to search for what lurks in the shadows of the zoo after dark! Costumes encouraged! Looking for more spooktacular fun? Limited admission is included, so stay for a day of Boo at the Zoo before your program! This program includes walking outside in dim light. All paths are wheelchair and stroller accessible.

  • The Bronx Zoo is open year-round. We close on the following holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Martin Luther King Day. Spring and summer are naturally high-attendance seasons, but we encourage guests to visit during fall and winter as well. When the weather cools off, many animals are more active and you'll encounter fewer crowds. 

    With 265 acres of wildlife habitats and attractions, it's difficult to see the entire zoo in one day. For shorter visits, take a two-hour tour of our most popular exhibits, like Tiger Mountain, Himalayan Highlands, Congo Gorilla Forest, and World of Reptiles. During the warmer months, guests with young children can begin their visit at the Children's Zoo and then stroll Astor Court to meet our sea lions and visit Madagascar! In wintertime, warm up in JungleWorld, our giant indoor rainforest habitat.
