The Holiday Lights experience on 11/29 is designed for guests that thrive in a sensory-supportive environment. During this special evening you can expect the same great Holiday Lights with some modifications to make it more sensory friendly.
Sensory Friendly Holiday Lights includes smaller crowds due to limited tickets available for the evening, a quieter music volume throughout the experience, lighting effects will be dramatically reduced or made static throughout the experience, a Quiet Room will be available in the Administration West Building on Astor Court from 5-8pm, and KultureCity sensory bags available free of charge with an ID hold, bags are loaned on a first come first serve basis. Bags contain fidget tools, noise-canceling headphones and other resources.

The Bronx Zoo is open year-round. We close on the following holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Martin Luther King Day. Spring and summer are naturally high-attendance seasons, but we encourage guests to visit during fall and winter as well. When the weather cools off, many animals are more active and you'll encounter fewer crowds.
With 265 acres of wildlife habitats and attractions, it's difficult to see the entire zoo in one day. For shorter visits, take a two-hour tour of our most popular exhibits, like Tiger Mountain, Himalayan Highlands, Congo Gorilla Forest, and World of Reptiles. During the warmer months, guests with young children can begin their visit at the Children's Zoo and then stroll Astor Court to meet our sea lions and visit Madagascar! In wintertime, warm up in JungleWorld, our giant indoor rainforest habitat.
