Brooklyn Botanic Garden
Prospect Heights/Crown Heights
$25; $20 seniors and students; free for children younger than 12
One of Brooklyn's favorite fall events returns with food, hot music, family workshops, fire jugglers, and more in this grand celebration of the almighty chili pepper.
The longest-running event of its kind on the East Coast, BBG’s Chile Pepper Festival features musical performers from around the world burning up the stage—including the Battle of Santiago, Lost Bayou Ramblers, Ladama, Red Baraat, and Mariachi Tapatio de Alvaro Paulino—alongside a marketplace with over 60 vendors offering a tongue-tingling array of local and exotic delicacies featuring chile peppers. This year, visitors can also stroll and shop for spices at Sahadi’s Souk, a spice shop overseen by Brooklyn’s famed Sahadi Market, a Middle Eastern specialty food vendor founded in 1895.
Address: 900 Washington Ave. Prospect Heights/Crown Heights, NY 11225
