Grab your winter coat and warmest pair of socks and get ready for the new large-scale winter wonderland installation on the rooftop of Brooklyn Children’s Museum. ArtRink—a 3,200-square-foot outdoor ice skating rink and one-of-a-kind experience—is BCM’s holiday gift to families in Brooklyn and beyond. The eco-friendly skating rink, created by Glice, is specially designed for skaters of all ages and skills. Visitors can lace up their skates and glide around under the sparkling lights of BCM's rooftop canopy. While on site, guests can also enjoy festive music while exploring a mini-village of winter playhouses, designed for open-ended play. Decorated by local artists, each house is augmented by commissioned large-scale works on the theme, A Note to our Future. Children and adults alike are invited to reflect on the theme, looking back on the year and looking forward to what's to come. The adventure continues stepping into the magical blue Ice Cave, transformed from BCM's Nest climbing structure. Climb inside or on top and see the holiday decor of tree lights. Families can also stroll through the Winter Woodland Walk, under forested archways, lit up and decorated with festive greenery and garlands of evergreen and red berries. The large arch in the center offers a picture-perfect place for a family photo. The Rainbow Lounge provides another cool spot to snap a pick or chill out. Have a seat on one of the light-up chairs or ice cube benches, which can be used to build or play. Leave a message to your future along the large chalkboard wall (with a swanky branded neon sign) for all to see.
