Art Adventures: New Bruce Community Mural

This event has already taken place. Click here for the latest events.

Help celebrate the wonderful “New Bruce” in the making by creating your own artwork to be displayed outside the Museum for all to see! This new in-person, drop-in Art Adventures program is designed for children ages 4 and up and their families and will be offered on select weekends starting in late May and continuing into June. Using a 6 x 6-inch ceramic tile and painting supplies provided free of charge by Museum educators, you’re invited to create your own work of art inspired by the Museum’s collections and the new exhibitions of art and science that will be on view once the building project and renovations to the current Museum building are completed. The tiles will be added to a special installation alongside the construction fence at the Museum’s entrance and displayed throughout the summer. The Art Adventures: New Bruce Community Mural program is free to Museum members and visitors. Advance registration is not required.

About Bruce Museum

The Bruce Museum is a regionally based, world-class institution highlighting art, science and natural history in more than a dozen changing exhibitions annually. The permanent galleries feature the natural sciences that encompass regional to global perspectives.

The museum was originally built as a private home in 1853. Robert Moffat Bruce (1822-1909), a wealthy textile merchant and member of the New York Cotton Exchange, bought the house and property in 1858 and deeded them to the Town on Greenwich in 1908.
