Urban Park Rangers specialize in the interpretation of historic turning points, both natural and manmade, in the New York City's long history.  Celebrate Black History Month in Parks with the Urban Park Rangers. On August 11, 1973, hip hop was born in The Bronx at a recreational room party. The party was so popular and crowded it had to move the party over to what is now known as Cedar Playground. See the sites that birthed hip-hop.
