Event description: This events celebrates the beginning of a month-long festival of architecture activities, programs, and exhibitions. Families are invited to drop in and create an architectural centerpiece to be displayed at the foundation's annual fundraising event, the Heritage Ball, where they will be admired by some of the city's top design professionals. Participants can also catch a sneak preview of "Building Connections 2011," a new exhibition of K-12th grade student work, which will open to the public later in the day.

The Center for Architecture is a a public gallery space committed to advancing an understanding of the field and a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting a broader appreciation of the built environment through educational programs and scholarship. Our programs engage young people, families, teachers, and community members in contemporary topics in the built environment. They provide visual tools that inspire participants to think critically about the physical world around them.
