Due to the coronavirus, please call to ensure this event is still happening before you leave home.
This is the third and last in a series of virtual artist talks, comprised of cutting-edge contemporary local Hudson Valley artists. Due to the Center for the Digital Arts Gallery being closed during the pandemic, the museum is bringing the art to you remotely by showcasing rich artistic practices that you can participate in via Zoom. Please review the artist material and join in for an amazing opportunity to have an intimate exchange with one of their artists this fall. RSVP to peekskill@sunywcc.edu and receive your Zoom link for the event. Jean-Marc Superville Sovak is a multidisciplinary artist whose work deeply involves the community around him. Jean-Marc has collected and altered 19th century antique prints, built and toured a Tiny House of Steel, staged a neighborhood portrait drawing-as-oral-history storefront, produced videos of his doppelgangers, and given guided tours of NYC housing projects. His work has been exhibited at the Samuel Dorsky Museum, the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Socrates Sculpture Park, and Manifesta 8 European Biennial. He also has illustrated several award-winning novels by Julie Chibbaro.
