LA-based photographer Rick Nahmias has dedicated over a decade to creating awareness-raising art and food-centric projects. The Migrant Project photo exhibit explores California's agricultural workforce which provides approximately fifty percent of the produce consumed in the United States.
Nahmias' social justice-themed media work has been shown across North America, Europe, and Asia, was presented on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, is part of the permanent collection of the National Museum of American History at the Smithsonian, and is shown in several other private and public collections across the country.
This marks the first time that The Migrant Project is showcased in New York City and also the first time it is exhibited in a food environment. The exhibition is free and on view through October in the market concourse.
Address: 75 Ninth Ave., 5th Floor, Suite A Chelsea, NY 10011
