Artsy Thursday is a day for kids to find their inner creativity. In today's world, it's easy to resort to technology in order to keep children entertained and occupied. While technology is useful, it shouldn't come at the expense of children playing and making things with their own hands so they can express themselves in a creative way. See a new class every week!

About Children's Museum of Manhattan

Upper West Side, NY

212-721-1223

  • Standard hours: Tuesday–Friday, Sunday, 10am–5pm; Saturday, 10am–7pm; Open Mondays, 10am-5pm in summer only

  • The Children's Museum of Manhattan inspires children and families to learn about themselves and our culturally diverse world through a unique environment of interactive exhibitions and programs. Since opening in a neighborhood storefront in 1973, CMOM has grown into a 38,000-square-foot learning facility with outreach programs at nearly 50 sites throughout New York City.

CMOM focuses on four priority areas to impact children in ways that will last a lifetime:

    • Early childhood education prepares children for success in school.
    • Creativity in the arts and sciences inspires creative and analytical thinking skills for lifelong learning.
    • Healthy lifestyles programs provide a blueprint for a family's physical, emotional and environmental well-being.
    • Exploration of world cultures gives children awareness, understanding and context for the diverse society in which we all live.
