Teaching Artist Phyllis Yao’s piece on the Fine Arts wall is inspired by her memories of Lunar New Year celebrations as a child. Today, we will take inspiration from Phyllis’ artwork and make our own weavings! Think of a memory of a special celebration or place. What colors come to mind? What textures? Find yarn and string that reflects your memory and use it to weave onto a popsicle stick loom. Next, decorate the loom to look like the special place that you were inspired by!
