Event description:

This free monthly class uses art and technology to build peer-to-peer relationships and digital storytelling skills. Families will look closely at an artwork for inspiration for their collaborative film clips. Students will experiment with animation and sound techniques while exploring different art mediums. Registration required.

CMA’s Inclusive Saturday Classes provide a free opportunity for children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and their family and friends. CMA Teaching Artists are trained in facilitating structured workshops are specifically designed to help children with Autism develop social skills, creative problem-solving, and expression through art. The program’s supportive environment also helps strengthen family ties and builds a sense of community for families affected by Autism.

The mission of the Children’s Museum of the Arts is to introduce children and their families to the transformative power of the arts by providing opportunities to make art side-by-side with working artists.

Children’s Museum of the Arts is a nonprofit arts facility that brings hands-on art programming to children throughout New York City. The staff of practicing teaching artists guide and mentor young artists ages 10 months to 15 years through fun and advanced art projects, ranging in a variety of techniques and mediums.
