Event description: A night of romantic French music featuring the unique combination of the violin and voice. The program will include French art songs and violin sonatas, including works by Faure, Franck, Poulenc, Debussy, Ravel, Ysaye, and Donizetti, and ending with an exciting violin-voice-piano trio, "Dans Le Soir," by Camille Saint-Saens. New York violinist Akiko Kobayashi, praised for her "warm tone and precise and honest playing, with no artificial effects," performs with Canadian lyric soprano Vania Chan, who has delighted audiences with her "lovely effortless singing and crystal clear tone."
