If you’re looking for something fun and creative to do without leaving home, then join the Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium for a virtual Paint Along! Bring your creativity, and your supplies, to make a water color frog. For all ages. This is a virtual event hosted through Zoom. You will receive your Zoom meeting information by email shortly after registering. Be sure to check your spam folder if you do not see it.
Supplies being used by Hatchery staff:
Strathmore watercolor cold press paper, 140lb. 9″ x 12″
Crayola 24ct watercolor pan set
Paint brushes of varying sizes (at least a large, medium, and small sized bristle)
4 or more small, clean cups to hold water and mix colors
Clean water
Paper towels
Pencil
A good eraser
Fine tip black Sharpie (if not using Sharpie, make sure the marker doesn’t bleed when exposed to water)
Printed out frog picture template
A few sheets of scrap paper

Non profit Freshwater Environmental Center, Trout Fish Hatchery since 1883; Two Aquarium Buildings housing New York's largest collection of freshwater fish, reptiles and amphibians
The Hatchery is more than 125 years old. It's a great place for family outings. You can fish for trout here, buy fish food and feed the fish in the outdoor ponds. You can also visit the two aquarium buildings that house New York State's largest collection of fish, reptiles and amphibians. Although food is not served here there are plenty of picnic tables. The Hatchery is a non-profit environmental center dedicated to the preservation of our fresh water resources. General tours can be scheduled and School groups come here to study our wildlife. It is centrally located on Long Island and easy to get to with the Long Island Expressway. There are plenty of special events scheduled throughout the year and membership entitles free entry to many of them.
