Ever wonder what you feed a turkey vulture? Curious about how a box turtle chews with no teeth? Join Earthplace staff in the Animal Hall and Connecticut Birds of Prey exhibit for scheduled feeding times. Earthplace staff will be able to answer all your questions while giving each of the animals their daily meal. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays watch the animals in Animal Hall get fed. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays it's time to feed the Birds of Prey. The activity takes place year-round.
Address: 10 Woodside Lane Westport, CT 06880
The mission of Earthplace is to build a passion in our community for nature and the environment through education, experience, and action. Earthplace has been based in Westport, Connecticut, since its founding in 1958, and has grown to include many mission-related resources including a state-licensed preschool, a natural history museum, and Harbor Watch, a locally renowned water quality research program. Its sanctuary consists of 74 contiguous acres of open space that supports a variety of habitats and several miles of walking trails—including Wheels in the Woods IV, a universal access trail suitable for wheelchairs and strollers. It is also home to the live Birds of Prey Exhibit and the indoor Animal Hall for public viewing.
