Event description: This film, appropriate for students in grades 4 and up is a documentary by Connecticut filmmaker Karyl Evans chronicling the significant events and people in the history of African Americans in Connecticut from just after the Civil War to the Civil Rights era. The film is narrated by Ruby Dee. The film received 3 Emmy Awards for writing, producing and directing by Karyl Evans.
