Greenburgh Nature Center
Forty percent of the food in America is wasted. A new documentary by Anthony Bourdain, WASTED: The Story of Food Waste, aims to change the way people buy, cook, recycle, and eat food. Through the eyes of chef-heroes like Bourdain, Dan Barber, Mario Batali, Massimo Bottura, and Danny Bowien, WASTED exposes the criminality of food waste and shows us how each of us can make small changes – all of them delicious – to make the most of every kind of food. In partnership with the Sierra Club Lower Hudson Group.
Address: 99 Dromore Road
Scarsdale, NY 10583
The Greenburgh Nature Center (GNC) is a 33-acre nature preserve with trails, a pond and gardens. More than 80,000 visitors come to the GNC each year. The property is a significant wildlife habitat refuge, both for indigenous species and for the hundreds of species of migratory birds that use it as a resting place on their spring and fall travels. The property includes 30 acres of woodland, two significant wetland sites, and a native plant meadow.
