Celebrate 50 Years of Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch with Live Raptor Shows, Hawk Identification Workshops and the spectacle of hundreds of migrating raptors! Greenwich Audubon Center is thrilled to announce a two-day celebration of the importance of birds of prey and their incredible migratory journeys. This event is a homage to the original Hawk Watch Weekend public events of the 1980s hosted at Greenwich Audubon Center. People of all ages will be able to enjoy meeting hawks & owls up close during Live Raptor Presentations by falconers & local wildlife rehabilitators as well as learn how to identify the dozens of species of migratory hawks, eagles, falcons and vultures over your heads during Raptor Identification Workshops. Attendees will be able to scan the skies at Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with staff & volunteer hawk counters as they point out raptors flying overhead. During this period of peak raptor migration the Center anticipates large numbers of species such as Bald Eagle, Osprey, Sharp-Shinned Hawk, American Kestral and on days of ideal weather thousands of Broad-Winged Hawks in a single day.
