Learn how to attract songbirds to your backyard in winter and participate in community science to help count them! Have you ever wondered what birds are visiting your backyard bird feeders or how to attract certain species of birds to your yard? Learn about the life histories and identification of our winter bird species and the types of food and feeders that best suit their needs. You'll also learn how to participate in Project FeederWatch—a winter-long community science survey of the birds that visit feeders in your backyards, parks, offices, and other areas. You and your family can participate by counting the birds you see in your backyard and submitting them to the Project FeederWatch website. Following a slideshow presentation, there will be a FeederWatch count at the Learning Center's bird feeder window! This IN-PERSON program has a limited capacity and will be held indoors. Masks are encouraged to be worn but not required. Tickets MUST be purchased in advance online. There will be no ticket sales at the door the day of the program. Recommended for ages 6 and up. Please register for the quantity of ALL members in your party. The rate for children and adults is the same. Upon arrival please check in at the front desk and proceed to Kiernan Hall where our slide show will take place. For questions, please call or email Ryan MacLean at [email protected]
