Free with admission: $5; $3 seniors and children ages 5-16

Event description: Learn how create picture book stories inspired by the work of Caldecott Award winner Jerry Pinkney with Fashion Institute of Technology students who study with Eric Velasquez. Four days over two weekends; attend one or multiple sessions, and bind your story into a book. Today's program: A Fable or Folktale - a story that shows something true. Work may be selected to be on view at the Museum's Education Center. For ages 9 and older (younger artists are welcome to collage). Art materials supplied.

The Hudson River Museum is the largest cultural institution in Westchester County and a multidisciplinary complex that draws its identity from its site on the banks of the Hudson River. The Museum collections focus on 19th-century through contemporary American Art; Glenview, an 1876 house on the National Register of Historic Places; Hudson Riverama, an environmental teaching gallery; a state-of-the-art, 120-seat planetarium, and a 400-seat outdoor amphitheater with programs every weekend, special days for families and events throughout the year.
