Admission: $5; $3 children and seniors

Description: A fun-filled family day with tours, performances creative projects and planetarium shows.

Family Gallery Tours led by a Museum Educator will run all afternoon.

Family Arts Projects: •Make a Paper Regatta and race it down the river. •Create a Monster Mural: Hastings artist Jennifer Smith shows participants how to make a monster mural. Paint big and paint new views of the Hudson and Thames Rivers.

Performance: •At 3:30pm, "The Victorian Magic-Lantern Spring Show" by the American Magic-Lantern Theater. See an 1890's-style big screen show on a replica of the first slide projector. Learn how the magic-lantern show helped create New York's famous Adirondack Park and save the river's headwaters.

Planetarium Shows: •At 12:30pm and 2pm, "Being There: From Cycloramas to Virtual Reality." Follow the evolution of the "immersive environment," from the cyclorama to today's planetarium. See panoramas of other worlds. Experience it. Be there.
