To celebrate Smithsonian Magazine's Museum Day Live, the Hudson River Museum will offer free admission to all ticket holders. Join for a special tour, "Local Women Leading the Way," at 2pm led by Visiting Associate Curator Giovanna Fiorino-Iannace, and learn about the tireless work done by Yonkers and Westchester women for the cause of women’s suffrage. In an illustrated talk, Fiorino-Iannace will discuss the activities and achievements of Hattie Faber Osterheld and women like her, incorporating artifacts from the Museum's archives, from antique flyers to ribbons and buttons which document the suffrage movement in Yonkers. In addition, experience the Museum’s permanent collections, current exhibitions, Hudson Riverama, an environmental teaching gallery, and see Glenview, our 1876 historic home. The Hudson River Museum is the largest cultural institution in Westchester County and a multidisciplinary complex that draws its identity from its site on the banks of the Hudson River. The Museum collections focus on 19th-century through contemporary American Art; Glenview, an 1876 house on the National Register of Historic Places; Hudson Riverama, an environmental teaching gallery; a state-of-the-art, 120-seat planetarium, and a 400-seat outdoor amphitheater with programs every weekend, special days for families and events throughout the year.
