Inspired by the contemporary Japanese ceramics on view at the KMA, and in collaboration with the Clay Art Center, this workshop invites youth artists to experiment with unique hand-built clay techniques. Working virtually with Clay Art Center teaching artist Jeanne Carreau, students will transform a slab of clay into a one-of-a-kind plate using just their hands and basic tools. Workshop kits will be available for pickup at the KMA prior to the event. Ages 8-14; no prior ceramics experience necessary. Advanced registration required; maximum of 10 participants.
