Enjoy ethnic food, dance, music, and entertainment. Bring folding chairs or blankets and enjoy the weather. County Executive Robert P. Astorino will offer a bilingual welcome at the largest Hispanic community event of the year in Westchester - the Hispanic Heritage Festival - Sunday, July 21, 12-7pm, at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla.
Now in its 31st year, this annual free event, which attracts up to 15,000 people, represents the cultures of 22 Spanish-speaking countries.
Festival highlights include music, dancing, arts and crafts, foods, and fun for all, with special activities just for children. Festival-goers can visit booths staffed by more than 20 not-for-profit agencies and learn about the programs and services they offer. The event is sponsored by Westchester County Parks, Friends of Westchester County Parks, and Alianza Latina (El Centro Hispano, Inc., the Hispanic Resource Center, Neighbors Link, United Community Center and Westchester Hispanic Coalition), Wells Fargo, Brady Goldberg, El Aguila, and Westchester Hispano.
