"Art Within Nature," by Robert Uricchio, will be on display at The Oresman Gallery in the Larchmont Public Library. This show features landscape photography of the Hudson Valley and a variety of other locations. The exhibit, which is free and open to the public, runs through January 30th.
After a twenty-year career as a New York City Police Officer, Robert Uricchio returns to his original passion - photography. At an early age he began taking pictures locally of his home in Jackson Heights, New York. His love of travel and the outdoors inspires his work. He lives in Westchester, where he photographs the Hudson Valley landscape during his hikes. Mr. Uricchio studied photography at St. John's University, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Arts. His work has appeared in several libraries, such as The Architecture for Art Gallery in Hillsdale, NY; The Salmagundi Aft Gallery in New York City; The Rockefeller State Park Art Gallery in Tarrytown, NY; and The Mill Street Loft Art Gallery in Beacon, NY, where he won an honorable mention award for the image "Bahama Sunrise." His images are on display at the Art for Health Program at the Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt, NY, where two images are included in the private collection, and six images are displayed in the MRI Suite. Additionally, Uricchio photographed several museums and their works of art for the web site architectureforart.com, and has edited many videos about museums, their art, artists, and architects.
