Heart & Seoul: Growing Up in Korea at Long Island Children's Museum

Event description: The growing popularity of all things Korean, from fashion and film to music and cuisine, called “Hallyu” (the Korean Wave) is on view when this exhibit rolls into LICM. You can “hang out” with Korean kids and “text” them questions about what life is like in Seoul. You can “perform” with K-Pop stars in a K-Pop studio. Check out a stop-motion animation studio. Learn Taekwondo. Get a taste of Korea “trying” Korean dishes. Take a look at how they live and more! Traditional folktales, coupled with current day personal stories told by Korean children introduce visitors to time-honored cultural values that are still an integral facet of 21st century Korean life, including respect for elders; the importance of education; loyalty and hospitality.
