ABOUT THE EXPO
Mercy College's first annual Health & Wellness Expo will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 10:30am-2:30pm on the Dobbs Ferry campus (555 Broadway).
This multi-disciplinary health and wellness expo provided by the faculty and students of the School of Health and Natural Sciences and partnering agencies will feature free health screenings, interactive exhibits and hands-on workshops (see event activities). Main themes include 1) Fitness, Exercise, and Health for all ages, 2) Management of Special Needs or Chronic Conditions, and 3) Health Profession Careers.
The expo will provide information and resources to the community to foster healthy lifestyles, increase understanding of health issues and risk factors, and enhance management of special needs or chronic conditions. The expo will feature keynote speaker Shannon White, an Emmy-nominated TV journalist, award-winning speaker, and author of "The Invisible Conversations with Your Aging Parents" and "How was School Today? Fine."
At the same time, it is an opportunity to learn about careers in health by watching students and faculty in action, and by speaking with students or faculty in health profession programs.
The Mercy College Health & Wellness Expo will set the foundation for healthy lifestyles for each and every community member.
Note about Amenities:
The event is wheelchair accessible. Free parking and shuttle service will be provided on campus. Mercy College's cafeteria will be open throughout the event. The full menu will be offered for purchase. Refresh yourself with lunch, coffee or a snack break while enjoying views that overlook the Hudson River.
