#MetKids Illustrator Series will include doodling activities in the galleries, explanations of illustrating techniques, comics about the Museum, and stories about how illustrations exist beyond a picture book’s pages, among others. This month will feature Lulu Delacre, a bilingual author, illustrator, and speaker, who has been writing and illustrating children’s books since 1980. The three-time Pura Belpré Award honoree and New York Times bestselling artist has lectured internationally and served as a juror for the National Book Awards. She has exhibited at museums including The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, The Original Art Show at the Society of Illustrators in New York, the Museum of Art of Puerto Rico, and the Zimmerli Art Museum.
