Super Family MONDAY: Winter in a Gold Coast Mansion

This event has already taken place. Click here for the latest events.

Join the museum to travel from the past to the present in the glorious Gold Coast Mansion (now the Nassau County Museum of Art) which was once the home of the Frick family. Inspired by the family’s unique collection of pets, the staff from Volunteers for Wildlife has been invited to bring a variety of birds, mammals, reptiles, & amphibians native to Long Island to meet and learn about. Participants will create their own three-dimensional animals in their habitats. Use our scavenger hunt to explore the art in our Songs Without Words: The Art of Music exhibition! Give a new meaning to Freeze Dance when you play a game that has everyone moving outside as a warm up to a self-guided Family Nature Discovery Walk

Pre-registration is required for this event. Masks required indoors.

Roslyn Harbor, NY

516-484-9337

Ranked among the nation's largest, most important suburban art museums, Nassau County Museum of Art is located about 25 miles east of New York City in Roslyn Harbor, Long Island, on the former Frick Estate, in the heart of Long Island's fabled Gold Coast. The main museum building, named in honor of art collectors and philanthropists Arnold and Joan Saltzman, is a three-story Georgian mansion that exemplifies Gold Coast architecture of the late 19th century.

In addition to the Arnold & Joan Saltzman Fine Art building, Nassau County Museum of Art includes the Sculpture Park, Formal Garden of historic importance, the Pinetum, an architecturally-significant restored trellis, rare specimen trees, and marked walking trails.
