Description: Whaling used to be big business in the United States--and it was extremely dangerous. Discuss the history of the whaling industry through the museum's amazing Museum collections and learn about the rescue of hundreds of men whose ice-encrusted whaling ships left them trapped in the arctic for the harsh winter of 1897. What it took to get these men to safety is almost unbelievable.
