ONLINE Reading into History Family Book Club @ Home: Show Me A Sign

This event has already taken place. Click here for the latest events.

Celebrate National Deaf History Month and join the New-York Historical Society online to discuss "Show Me a Sign" by Ann Clare LeZotte, a novel about a young girl living in 19th-century Martha's Vineyard and the fascinating history of the island's Deaf community. LeZotte weaves threads of adventure, family tragedy, community, racism, and hearing people's negative assumptions about Deaf people into a beautiful and complex whole. Share reactions to the book and explore historical objects and documents that bring the book to life. This program will be ASL interpreted.
